School-Lunch Staff Bring Nutrition to the Table

Cafeteria food is supposed to be healthy - and cheap. But it's getting harder to be both, unless you get creative. By: Brookie Lea Foster

What did I learn? Is that children in America are obese and that the school cafeteria food is not always healthy especially if all they give children are the fried food, pizza, and the cheese burgers. Also, if the federal government would provide more financial assistance to schools the school would provide healthier foods like: fresh vegetables, whole grains, and low fat reduced milk. This financial assistance would benefit the students health and at the same time they will learn to eat healthier.

What else do I want to learn? Is if the parents are aware of the students diets in school, and if the schools cafeteria uses technology to measure what students perfer to eat. I would also like to learn more about the recipes that this school uses everyday and if parents can view their lunch menu and where do these schools apply for grants to help their school get money for the cafeteria since this benefits students well being.
